Sweet Zeus was surrendered to rescue when his owners were no longer able to care for him!  Perhaps it should have happened sooner, as this poor guy just tested positive for heartworms.  It's pretty much impossible to avoid heartworms and mosquitos in Texas!  At only two years old, treatment for heartworms won't be too bad, but completely unnecessary if he had been on prevention.  

We learned more about Zeus and his charming personality, he is so handsome I'm sure there will be a line out the door in a couple weeks when he is ready to be adopted!  Zeus should be available in April. 

Zeus is very vocal - so maybe not an apartment dog!  He loves to run and play, is good with other dogs that he knows but very protective of strangers and othere unknown dogs - not the best for a dog park dog!  He loves his yard and his people - he is very loyal and protective.  Plays well with his foster sister and loves his people.  An experienced dachshund owner is preferred!
