Poor little Scotty ended up in a shelter in very serious condition. ATDR jumped to his rescue and he was immediately transported to VERGI (Veterinary Emergency Referral Group, Inc., a 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care Hospital) with what was suspected to be a perforated lung, having a large and a noticeably large bite on his stomach and other injuries.
VERGI reports that X-Rays show several broken ribs from unknown trauma. This precious baby has been through more than he should bear…at only 6.5 pounds, VERGI has him on IV’s and is trying to manage his pain, anemia, parasites and more. Please say a prayer for this little one…
ATDR will do whatever it can to provide life-saving veterinary care, because that’s what ATDR does! Emergency care is even more costly than regular veterinary care. If you can find it in your heart to help with Scotty’s necessary care, please go to Donate button on the front page of this atdr.org site and make a contribution. No matter what the size, big or small, every little bit helps and will be greatly appreciated by Scotty and ATDR. It takes a village to see babies like Scotty through…please become a member of Team Scotty!
**6.28.18 UPDATE**
Scotty is doing some better today, he was taken off the IV this morning and is on oral pain meds. It will be a long healing process with his little broken ribs, but he is even eating a tiny bit today for the first time. They will reevaluate and determine when he might be released. Scotty sends his thanks to all for caring and sharing and donating so that he can have the best emergency care!
**6.29.18 UPDATE**
Scotty left VERGI today and will be fostered by a volunteer who is retired. His vet bill is enormous and he is on seven medications. He will still have to do follow-up X-Rays which will add to the amount of his vet bill. Donations are very much needed and appreciated.
