Description:
Meet Bitsy! She is incredibly affectionate, follows her foster family around everywhere they go and is always the first to cuddle up next to anyone on the couch. She makes it very easy to love her!
She came to ATDR after being turned into a shelter by her previous owner, along with her 3 babies. She was not in good shape, she was suffering from a fractured femoral head and tested positive for heartworms. She landed in a comfy foster home and her foster mom promised to help her through a full recovery. Bitsy had surgery for her injury and is slowly regaining use of her leg, although she may always have a slight limp. She will begin heartworm treatment soon and will be ready for adoption in December. Bitsy also takes a daily medication for urinary incontinence caused by over breeding. The medication costs about $20-25 per month.
Bitsy is perfectly fine with other dogs and enjoys their company, but is more of a companion rather than an active playmate. She does love to go to the park to watch and chase the squirrels. She takes that job very seriously, which is pretty funny to watch. She does enjoy taking leash walks and is doing well with those. She loves and is loved by all adults and children that she meets. She gives sneaky little kisses constantly to all to share her love.
Bitsy would be happiest in a family where someone is home more than away, such as a stay at home mom, a retired couple or someone who offices out of their home. She’s potty trained, spayed, current on vaccinations and absolutely a perfect and loyal friend. If this little love bug is a perfect match for your family, please submit an adoption application today.
