Lady came to ATDR with 5 newborn puppies & a sad story. Her elderly owner just could not handle Lady & the puppies. After making sure that there won't be any more puppies, Lady underwent heartworm treatment, but is now healthy & ready for a forever home. She has very patiently spent a lot of time resting in a crate, and is ready for a more active lifestyle. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night & is ready for the doggie door when morning comes. She's not a big fan of rain or wet grass, but she's very brave & quick about doing her business as she knows breakfast awaits. Meals are her favorite part of the day. In fact, she loves to eat so much, she is starting to watch her weight. She's just learning about walks, and walk time may soon be right up there with mealtime! Lady likes to play with toys, chew on rawhide chewies, & bask in the sun. She loves to snuggle with her foster brother & sister, but can quite happily entertain herself between naps. She is not a big barker, but will chime in with the doxie doorbells. Lady is ready to love someone who wants to make her a special part of their lives.
