Description:

Meet Bandit, a gorgeous, long, lean, 11-pound black and tan pure-bred Dachshund. This precious little 8-month-old boy was an unexpected thank-you gift given to his previous owner when he was just 8 weeks old. She loved him dearly, but because of her frequent work and travel schedule, Bandit spent way too many hours crated and alone. As her travel increased, she realized this handsome little guy was being deserved of so much more. Wanting him to have the best life possible, including but not limited to, a loving, full-time family, she made the heartbreaking difficult decision to place him up for adoption. ATDR is honored that she chose them as the trusted rescue to find her baby boy the caring home he deserves.

He’s a very sweet little guy who enjoys snuggling in your lap and giving gentle kisses. He loves playing with his toys and gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. He sleeps well in his crate and is an excellent car rider. He hasn’t spent a lot of time on a leash, so he’ll need a little practice going for walks.  He’s familiar with the doggie door, but is fearful of going through it. He will, however, happily do his business outside if you open the door and tell him “go outside!” Bandit will do best with a person or family where someone works from home or is around most of the day. He’s also good with older children who understand how to handle and play gently with a Dachshund.

If you have it in your heart to add this beautiful boy to your family, please fill out an adoption application for Bandit. He won’t be on this site for long.
