Description:

Handsome little Willie, a/k/a Lover Boy, is an owner-surrender because, “he needed too much attention”! What a thing to say about a precious little Doxie boy who only wants to express how much he loves you! That’s all right though, because ATDR is thrilled to enjoy all of the attention he has to lavish and feels so fortunate he is with us now!

Willie’s new foster parents say: He is an absolute sweetheart and we are so happy to have added this boy to our foster pack! He is very food motivated but polite about feeding time and is willing to stand aside as our other two…one is quite jealous…receive their food first. He’s not an incessant barker, which is wonderful. It takes a lot to get him going. He barks when crated…he barks at the mowers! All in all though, he’s a fairly quiet guy. He gets a little bored when we’re working and sometimes goes “looking for trouble”; i.e., Willie is a tad bit mischievous! He’s a bit of an escape artist too! I’m glad we were warned this might be the case, as it has allowed us to keep an eye on him, even in the backyard. He has been observed trying to dig under the fence…hmmm, to China maybe???  He has darted out the door and into the yard. It took a few “yells” to get him to stop, but a few seconds and a minor heart attack later, he did! He hasn’t been overly dominant with his foster siblings. If he gets a little growl from one, he quietly backs off and goes about his business. He’s generally very easy going and will probably get along great with most dogs in the home. He just came right on in and made himself at home here! He’s very smart, loves to play with toys and more than anything LOVES to just roll around in your lap and give you those flirty eyes! He truly is a JOY!

Willie is a tripod pup, having been hit by a car when he was two years old and, sadly, the leg was too damaged to save. The good part of this is that Willie has no idea he’s missing a leg or is any different from any other pup and gets around great!

Willis is active and would probably do great in a home with people who can wear him out a bit, so if you’re looking for a precious little guy to keep you feeling like you’re the greatest person in the world, Willie is your boy! He’s reviewing adoption applications for a loving forever home now and would like to consider yours! The absolute truth is that whoever is lucky enough to make Willie a member of their family will have won the grand prize!
