Meet pretty little Lexi! Unfortunately, her military mom in South Dakota was deployed. Alas, Lexi was left in the care of someone else who sadly took her to a shelter. Finding out about her plight, a Texas couple drove all the way up there and rescued her. Sadly, once again, they only kept her about a year feeling they traveled to much to give her the time and attention she needed, having left her boarded for long periods of time during that year. Consequently, this couple posted a “we need to re-home this dog because…” story on Facebook which thankfully was seen by an ATDR volunteer. ATDR couldn’t say no to this precious girl who had been bounced around so much through no fault of her own, so she was transported down to Kingwood where she is now in a safe, loving foster home being cared for by kind foster parents.
Lexi wants little more than to be close to her human(s) up to and including sleeping in the big bed! Having been kenneled so much in her prior life, she’s not a fan of being crated. She’s a vocal girl! At feeding time she lets you know when she’s ready to eat and she also lets you know when she wants to be picked up! She uses the doggie door and has had no accidents in the house. Lexi will be enjoying a good healthy spa diet in an effort to trim down a bit since she is somewhat overweight at 15 pounds and suffers some joint discomfort in her front shoulders because of it. In sum, Lexi is a sweet girl and a total love bug in need of someone to love forever! She’s so deserving of a good, loving, stable home where she’ll never find herself homeless again.
If you’re looking for a precious girl to kick back and enjoy life with, please submit an adoption application for Lexi. She’ll be the best little friend and companion you could ever hope to find.
