Meet Wendy! Sadly, this tiny girl had to be surrendered by her owner, but thank goodness she's in a comfortable foster home, now, receiving lots of tender loving care. Wendy is a 10-pound, 7-year-old, sweet loving pup. She is a beautiful red with just a little dappling in her coat and a touch of frostiness on her nose. She’s good with people but will bark at strangers until she feels comfortable. She LOVES to play fetch and take walks. She’s very active for a 7-year-old and very vocal so won't be suitable for apartment, condo or townhouse living! Wendy suffered from IVDD three years ago but had a successful recovery after surgery. She’s had no problems since then, but like all long-bodied dachshunds, needs to be handled gently and discouraged from jumping up and down off things. No doubt playing fetch has kept her and her back in good shape!
Wendy is house trained and will tolerate a crate, but she much rather prefers being with her human and will follow you wherever you go. She loves sleeping in the big bed and cuddling up in a warm lap. She’s good with other dogs, but wants to eat cats! Wendy gives the sweetest kisses and just wants to be part of a family who will love her forever. She will brighten your days and warm your lap. If you live in a house with a fenced yard and are looking for a bundle of sweetness to share life with, please submit an adoption application for Wendy...she is waiting for you!
