A very sweet donor suggested Mac as he was the color of a Macademia nut! So it is. Mac is doing well after a hind leg amputation. He is on crate rest and will need to be quiet another month to completely heal but he is getting around outside for potty breaks, is completely housetrained and is a perfect gentleman. He loves to rest in the sun and once recovered will be an amazing companion. Mac is great with other dogs and loves all humans. Mac is up to date on his shots now, heartworm negative and was neutered on April 8th. Mac is not good for an apartment. This is the perfect dog!
Mac Bastrop was found in someone’s yard after being hit by a car. He was rescued with an open wound in the groin area and had lost a lot of blood. His gums were very light pink from the loss of blood and he had three fractures that were not able to be addressed for the first 48 hours at least while they worked to stabilize him. Tibia fracture, femoral and pelvic fractures…all consistent with being hit by a car. Even in such pain and trauma, he remained very sweet and allowed himself to be picked up and reviewed without incident. Animal Control in Bastrop asked us to help. Our hearts went out to this precious boy. Bastrop needs all the prayers he can get and ATDR would be grateful for donations to help with his vetting and care. This boy needs nothing short of a miracle and anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. Please go to the Donate button to the left of this page or send a check or money order to ATDR’s address up above…no amount could be to small…
