Meet Bella. She's a sweet senior Chiweenie girl who came to ATDR via the Mustard Seed Rescue Group. Bella was dumped at BARC by her owner, who requested she be euthanized. Bella was flea infested, missing patches of fur and is heavy Heartworm positive. It hurts our hearts to know Bella was in that state of neglect as an "owned" pet. She wasn't a stray. Bella also has a grade 4 heart murmur. We're going to keep Bella on medication for a month and let her regain her strength before evaluating if/when she’s ready for HW treatment. She will also be spayed in the future.
Bella is a little doll. Her foster mom says she loves having her. She is crate and house trained. Bella enjoys sunbathing outside. Even though it appears she prefers women, she enjoys being with people and gets along well with other dogs. Bella is a cuddle bug. She will make a fantastic little lap dog for some lucky adopter after she’s on the road to better health!
In the meantime, ATDR has vowed to do everything possible to improve on Bella's health problems while lovingly caring for her in a comfortable foster home. Please remember Bella in your prayers and if you have it in your heart to want to help ATDR help Bella, please go to the donate button on the left-hand side of this page or send a check or money order to the PO Box address above it. No amount could ever be too small and anything would be greatly appreciated by precious Bella and ATDR.
