Lady lost the only home she had ever known because of health issues when she was surrendered to an animal shelter by her owner. When ATDR was contacted, of course we said yes and set the wheels in motion to bring her from East Texas down to the Houston/Pearland area to our rescue vet specialists. This sweet girl experiences great discomfort from seizures and a growth on her head and ATDR has vowed to spare no efforts moving forward with trying to stabilize and improve her health.
Impending surgery, medication and care that Lady requires is very costly. If you could find it in your heart to help ATDR help Lady, please go to the donate button on the left-hand side of this page or send a check or money order specifying Lady to the PO Box address above it. No amount could ever be too large or too small and all donations would be greatly appreciated by Lady and ATDR as we continue on this journey hopefully to better health.
12.2.24 Update: Lady had her ear tumor removed, along with 12 teeth, two weeks ago. She has recovered and bounced back very well. Her left ear skin was pulled tight by stitches after the tumor removal so now the ear stands upright. We're not sure if that will be permanent but it gives Lady some cute character. Unfortunately, the tumor turned out to be mass cell so, sadly, it is likely to return.
Lady is one spunky old lady. She doesn't act her age at all. Lady is still out here livin' and lovin' life. She enjoys being outside. She is highly food/treat motivated. And she enjoys lounging on the couch for tv time. Lady is actually the dominant female in her foster home.
