Description: My name is Shelby. My story is a very familiar one. I was dumped at night in a box on the front steps of an animal shelter, that is a kill shelter. Whoever dumped me, also dumped my three babies with me. My babies are only three weeks old. Thankfully, the shelter manager knows about rescue and called an All Texas Dachshund Rescue representative and made a plea for help for me and my kids. They agreed to take in all of us. The sad part is, one of my babies was too sick to travel, so I had to leave her behind at the vet hospital. I am now in foster care with two of my babies. Their names are Bindi (girl) and Stevie (boy). When we arrived in Austin, we were whisked away immediately to the vet hospital, to be checked out from head to toe. We found out that I am heartworm negative and I was started on preventative right away. As soon as I arrived at my foster home, I got a nice bath and boy did that make me feel better. The vet says I am too skinny and need to gain a couple of pounds. I am going to be spayed the week of July 23rd, as I have had such poor nutrition that I have run out of milk so my puppies are being bottle fed by my foster mom. I will have all my shots and be micro chipped at the same time. So I should be ready for adoption by the end of next week. I am a very sweet loving lil girl. My color is called Brindle. I love belly rubs, sitting in a lap, and LOVE sleeping in the big bed. I get along well with other dogs and love older children. I have lived outside in horrendously filthy conditions, so my housetraining needs to be worked on, but I am smart and learn very quickly. If you have room in your heart and home for me, please fill out the application and someone will be getting back with you soon. Love, Shelby Girl.
