Description:Charlie is a young (possibly 1 year old) short haired piebald dachshund rescued from living outside in the Texas heat. Charlie is already crate trained and is in the early stages of loose leash training. He is close to being house trained. Charlie is able to ask to go out by waiting by the back door. This young pup does not know the difference between a toy or a shoe yet, but he is learning all the rules of the house fast.
He is eager to be part of a new pack. My two dachshunds have enjoyed playing and running with him. Charlie enjoys the outdoors. I find myself begging him to come back in and end up letting him sun bathe a little longer. He shares his toys and shows no signs of food aggression.
Charlie can be a little shy around new people. He only needs a good scratch on his head or belly to start trusting you. Like many Doxies, Charlie is happiest either chasing a toy or on your lap. He will sit anywhere you put him and will offer a small kiss as a thank you.
Charlie will be spending time with children and other dogs over the next few weeks. If his sweet, loving and kind nature holds true, he should be a great companion for a family with kids or a single owner looking for a buddy.
Charlie will be available for adoption in a few weeks.
