Description:
Fuz is a standard wirehair who entered rescue when her mom became ill and could no longer care for her. Fuz has the typical personality of a standard wire -- she's full of energy and very intelligent. She can be quite the clown with her antics, although not every dog in the house is always appreciative of her habit of racing out the door and turning to bark at each of them to encourage them to run and play with her. She really wants a new home with a playful sibling or two and a fenced yard where she can be free to race around and get some of that energy expended.

Fuz was trained with a doggy door and it took her some time to adjust to needing to have the door opened for her. Some times she is so impatient she turns circles and barks in her eagerness. She's working on learning to sit a moment and be patient, but patience is definitely not her strong suit. She's been accident-free for some time, but in her new home may need a couple of weeks of reinforcement, with time to become confident and learn the routine.

Fuz is crate-trained but she'd prefer to not extend that to bedtime -- she'd much rather stretch her long body out on the big bed and hog the covers. Fuz needs a home without cats and without small children. While she can be very outgoing on her trips outside the home, she tends to be protective of her home turf and needs some time to warm up to strangers and feel safe. Having had little exposure to men in her past, she more readily places her trust in females. Her new home needs to work on additional socialization and exposure to new people and places for her to flourish. Fuz bonds quickly with "her human" so be prepared for your own little shadow always waiting for kisses, love pats, and confirmation that her world is safe.
