Hello, my name is Hazel and I found myself in the shelter when my family decided they liked their new dog better than me, so I was thrown out like yesterday's newspaper.
I am very, very sweet and I love to be in someones lap all of the time. As you can see, I am very photogenic. I love to pose for the camera. I am quiet and laid back.....until I see a squirrel or a bird. Then off I go to see if I can catch it!! I even try to jump up and catch flying bugs in my mouth and I think that's a whole lot of fun!
I like my crate and I will go in on my own. When foster mom and dad say it's bedtime, I go right in and never make a sound the whole night. Sometimes you have to coax me out with a treat. I'm pretty smart, after all, so why should I come out unless I get a reward? But what I would really love is to sleep in the big bed like I used to do at my old home. I am good with older children, I like to take walks and I enjoy riding in the car. If I say so myself, I am a perfect lady in every way. I am gentle when I take food from your hand, and I am house trained.
My only fault, I guess you'd say, is that I am somewhat timid and afraid of meeting new dogs and I will curl my lip up if they get right in my face, so you need to give me time to meet them slowly.
I am spayed, current on my vaccinations, heart worm negative and on preventative and I am ready to go to a family who will promise to keep me forever. I am very loyal and loving and I am hoping for a family who will be the same with me. Can you make me that promise?
